Two weeks before he dies, volatile entertainment mogul Eddie Ealing receives a disturbing message via e-mail. In it, a gift box opens to show a blood-spattered photograph of an unidentified young Latina woman and a beating heart. A card in the e-mail reads "Mike's Gifts." The images appear to deeply upset the tough-skinned mogul, typically the last person to show emotion, says the victim's estate manager, the only other person to see the message.
